Meet Ellen
Oxhab was founded and is run by Ellen Armitage, who is a specialist chartered Physiotherapist and fully accredited Pilates instructor.
Ellen has an enhanced DBS (criminal record check) certificate. She has also been trained and successfully assessed in emergency first aid at work.
Ellen qualified as a Physiotherapist over 20 years ago in 2002. She has extensive experience of rehabilitation having worked with clients in highly specialist services in the NHS and private sector. Ellen has over 15 years of experience of working in a specialist neuro- rehabilitation service within the NHS. Her considerable experience and advanced skills enable her to assess and advise clients including those with complex presentations and needs, including a full range of neurological conditions.
Ellen has a specialist interest and expert knowledge of improving posture, movement and exercise which can deliver tremendous benefits to her clients. She utilises these skills and knowledge in her approach and implementation of Physiotherapy treatment and Pilates. Ellen has completed training and is an accredited instructor for the highly effective exercise regime of ‘PD warrior’ for Parkinson’s Disease.
In 2022 she completed a MSc degree in rehabiliation which involved completing advanced, postgraduate physiotherapy training in her area of specialism. Ellen is highly motivated and is passionate about helping clients to achieve their goals in order to improve day- to- day life and functional abilites.
Ellen has trained with and is a member of the highly reputable Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute, regularly attending Pilates courses for her continued learning and development. Oxhab has been running dynamic and popular Pilates classes for over 5 years, including both general classes, and classes specifically designed for clients with neurological conditions.
